On July 15, 2006, a power outage at a Manhattan Beach, Calif., pump station resulted in the largest wastewater spill in a decade. Although the facility had a SCADA system in place, a combination of equipment and communication failures occurred, causing extreme flooding. Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County officials knew that such an event could never occur again, so they turned to RACO for a solution. A RACO Catalyst remote telemetry unit (RTU)  is an ideal companion to a Hach Water Distribution Panel (WDP). With the right hardware and RACO Alarmware software, plus some easy-to-follow instructions, setting up the system is easy. Required Equipment A Hach WDP/Catalyst system involves connecting a Hach Mod I/O (#598000) to the WDP through an Aquatrend network cable (#5215700).
