The Rose Street Lift Station in San Benito, Texas, uses the Chatterbox Automatic Alarm Dialer: a unit furnished with four digital inputs that can access landlines, pagers, cell phones and voice-mail systems. Plant officials keep the dialer in a Nema 4X enclosure with a transparent casing so that crews can easily view its status. Typical for this type of facility, the alarm is used to monitor power failure and high wet-well levels. The Silver Spring Water Co. in Park City, Utah, uses a Chatterbox Model CB-4 with Remote Supervisory Control Output (RSC-4) to monitor its well- and spring-fed storage system. CTF Controls of Woods Cross, Utah, designed, furnished and installed the control system, and Lynn Stevens is system manager. The facility normally is unattended. The Chatterbox monitors four conditions at the facility: storage tank level, spring turbidity, spring valve open/close status and chlorine leakage. Case Study: Catalyst System Increases Efficiency

In an effort to improve plant efficiency and provide safe drinking water, the Pike Township Municipal Authority installed a RACO Catalyst system at its Curwensville, Pa., water treatment and distribution facility. The authority did this as part of its membership in the Partnership for Safe Water program, which encourages utilities to voluntarily survey plant operations.
